Better Infrastructure

For a Better America

A Brief History

Founded on the principles of innovation, resilience, and a commitment to excellence, Legion Engineering has evolved into a leader in critical infrastructure solutions. The company began in 2012 as Scarab Technology, making its first acquisition of Solid Waste Solutions that same year—tracing its roots back to 1998. Originally focused on engineering solutions, Legion transformed its mission, embracing the military roots of its founder, Nathan Jones, a former JSOC intelligence operator.

After transitioning to a civilian intelligence officer role, Nathan witnessed the inefficiencies and missed potential within government contracting, where many companies thrived on status rather than merit. Determined to make a difference, he founded Legion Engineering to set a new standard: a defense contracting firm built on competence, innovation, and efficiency.

Today, Legion is driving change in America’s critical infrastructure industries—manufacturing, utilities, defense, petrochemicals, and logistics. At a time when the U.S. must rebuild its manufacturing capabilities, repair its crumbling infrastructure, and prepare for future challenges, Legion Engineering is leading the charge. From building the physical internet and automating manufacturing to fixing supply chain issues in the defense industrial base, the company is dedicated to helping America compete on the global stage.

Through pioneering automation, perfecting prototypes, scaling innovative solutions, and developing cutting-edge AI tools, Legion Engineering is shaping the future of industry. We are more than engineers; we are problem-solvers, innovators, and builders of a stronger tomorrow.
