Our telecommunications department likes to say, “We build the internet.” Our Planning and Design team is seeking an entry-level design associate. The successful candidate will be an anchor hire, meaning you will have a significant opportunity to grow and expand your role. We have an entrepreneurial culture and are looking for an employee who is ready to learn and is excited by network design. The position will be located at our headquarters in College Station, Texas.

The Role
As a Design Associate, you will design telecommunications infrastructure and produce documents to the exact specification of our clients. This means using software like AutoCAD and ArcGIS to produce designs easily actionable by construction crews. You will interface with our crewmembers in the field to capture and translate real-world data into digital formats. Construction crews will rely on you to solve problems and keep work moving steadily. Finally, as an associate, it is your responsibility to learn about our industry and to develop your skills.

You Will
Develop your knowledge and skills in design, permitting, and project management.
Provide a world-class customer experience
Gather, create, edit, and integrate design resources to produce materials that exceed client expectations.

Work closely with cross-functional partners including field services and construction.
Provide insight and improvements to tools and workflows to increase team effectiveness and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and interest in the telecommunications industry
Experience (1+ years) working as a member of a technical team.
Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Visio, Word).
Familiarity with CADD (AutoCAD) and GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS, 3GIS) software is preferred.
A desire to develop design and project management skills.
