We're seeking motivated engineers with strong technical and project management skills to support diverse, multi-discipline projects at our design labs in Groton, Connecticut. You'll coordinate the overhaul of complex mechanical components, manage budgets and schedules, and respond to liaison requests from Navy shipyards. Your work will span across all classes of nuclear submarines and nuclear training platforms, leading high-visibility projects and collaborating with various departments throughout the company.
This position will allow the engineer to interface directly with various internal and external organizations. Various positions are available across the Reactor Plant Planning Yard (RPPY), Moored Training Ship Support Yard (MTSSY), and S8G Prototype Design Agent. Open positions would provide engineering, design, and logistics support and maintain technical expertise for nuclear and non-nuclear propulsion plant systems and equipment.
Engineers will frequently interface with external organizations such as NAVSEA 08, Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL), Navy Shipyards, and component vendors.
Additionally, engineers will collaborate with various contractors and prime contractor departments as well as site offices at the Nuclear Power Training Unit (NPTU) Charleston and the S8G Prototype.
Occasional travel to other facilities and component vendors may be required.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering from an accredited program.
Active security clearance level Secret or higher
7+ years of relevant highly sought-after engineering expertise or a PhD in a relevant field. Includes Naval experience.
Internal candidates must be from organizations outside of Defense Operations.
Relocation to Groton, CT; College Station, TX; York, ME
Preferred:
Experience with mechanical component design and maintenance.
Experience working with equipment vendors.
US Navy experience.
Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to interface with NAVSEA 08, NNL, NPTU, Navy shipyards, component vendors, and other department personnel.
Well-organized, highly motivated problem solver.
Proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
